My name is Alex Barco and I work as a postdoctoral researcher at the Amsterdam School of Communication Research. My background is in electronics, with a focus on applications of social robots for use with children with disabilities and in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education. I am interested in the long-term evolvement of lasting relationships between children and robots, and always want to learn about new methodologies that can be applied in this fascinating field. In the CHILDROBOT project, I work on the question whether and how children implicitly learn social skills from robots.
